Arusha – 1 Night
International arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport – Transfer to accommodation Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania, nestled in the shadow of Mount Meru, with amazing views of magnificent Kilimanjaro. Arusha National Park is one of the least frequently visited northern Tanzania national parks, making it a wonderful and rewarding off-the-beaten-track. The park is unique in its diverse wildlife, striking mountain scenery and its beautiful lakes which are home to large families of flamingos.
Mahale – 3 Nights
Transfer to Arusha Airport – Flight to Mahale (4 hours) via Tabora – Transfer to accommodation Mahale Mountains National Park is simply one of the most beautiful parks in Africa! The lakeshore is a beach of fine powder-white sand and as a backdrop you have mountains, clad in verdant tropical vegetation. A walk through the forest will be a festival for all your senses – the forest is alive with sound and you will experience Tanzania’s densest population of primates: yellow baboon, red colobus, blue, red-tailed and vervet monkeys are never far away – and then, of course, there are the chimpanzees. And Lake Tanganyika is inviting for a boat cruise to see some colorful exotic tropical fish swimming in the crystal clear waters and watch a spectacular variety of birds along the lake shore. Katavi – 4 Nights
Flight to Katavi (55 minutes) – Transfer to accommodation It doesn’t get any better than this – a Safari in Katavi is a very excusive experience! In this untouched wilderness there are no humans for hundreds of miles and apart from one lodge and its staff, you will encounter no other people. The park’s main features are the enormous floodplains around Lake Katavi in the north and palm-fringed Lake Chada and Katuma River with scattered woodland in the south. The lakes support enormous groups of hippos, crocodiles and over 400 species of birds but it is the dry season that brings Katavi to life – great clouds of dust rise from the feet of over 3,000 buffaloes moving across the short grass plains and woodlands of Katavi and you will see thousands of zebra, topi and impala as well as hartebeest, giraffe and a large population of resident elephants. Flight to Mafia Island (5.5 hours) – Transfer to accommodation via speed boat Once you land on Songo Songo Island, you will live an unforgettable Robinson Crusoe feeling – you enter paradise and time slows down and you slowly withdraw from everyday life. The wonderful uncontaminated nature of this tropical island, 20 miles from the coast, is a tourist destination still unexplored. Walk along beaches of pure sand along the turquoise crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean.
