SAFARIS in Ouganda and Rwanda

Find your safari in Rwanda and Uganda
Rwanda and Uganda will offer you a memorable trip combining scenic landscapes with close wildlife encounters – most popular are the wild mountain gorillas that were made famous by the work of Diane Fossey, an American zoologist who studied them daily over a period of 18 years in the Volcanos Mountains of Rwanda. To see the gorillas in the mist is an experience not to be missed… You track through magical rainforests, listen to the calls of hundreds of colorful birds and watch butterflies swirl around until you get the first glimpse of your gorilla family. Looking into the eyes of a large silverback gorilla, you will most likely be amazed by his thoughtful and intelligent gaze being mindful of you being another individual. You also have the opportunity to track the rare chattering Golden Monkeys and the amazing chimpanzees – one of our closest relatives! But be warned – these cheeky creatures are so much more difficult to spot than the gorillas as they tend to move swiftly through the forest or swinging high in the canopies of the trees. Most visitors are only coming to see the gorillas, which is a shame, as there is so much more to experience in the lands of the Thousand Hills. Enjoy a boat ride on the many wonderful lakes, or take a walk around the Murchison Falls and if you are an adventure lover visit Jinja at the Nile for some wildwater-rafting, bungee-jumping or quad-biking. And if you can’t get enough of tracking, we highly recommend a track to the 4127m high majestic Volcano Muhavura, which will take you through some beautiful mountain scenery, little villages and farms and gives you an insight into daily life in Africa. With a bit of luck, you might also have the chance to see the tree-climbing lions in Ishasha – the southern sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is also possible to add Kenya or Tanzania to your Rwanda/Uganda itinerary for a diverse and most fascinating wildlife and nature experience.
